Ashton Style Furniture
The evolution of home furnishing styles is both gradual and deliberate. This makes it possible, for example, to trace the slow progression of a simple Shaker style to a slightly-more ornate Shaker style to a Shaker/Mission hybrid and eventually to a style that has little resemblance to the initial Shaker style. In this way, furniture styles are always changing and transforming.
With this in mind, Ashton Style Furniture possesses design features with definite traces of the Mission style. Yet it would be difficult to classify this style as a “Mission” style. The beaded hardwood side panels give the Ashton line a distinct appearance and the cut posts are a definitive and unique feature. The Aston Dresser pictured to the right is a great example.
